Sauteed Brown Sugar Pears

Total Time: 41 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 11 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 anjou pears, peeled and cut into eighths
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • vanilla ice cream
  • gingersnaps

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle lemon juice over pears.
  • 2 melt sugar and butter in a big nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes or until melted and smooth.
  • 3 decrease heat to low; add in pears; cook/stir, 6-8 minutes or until pears are tender.
  • 4 whisk together the cornstarch and 1 teaspoon water; stir into pear mixture, and cook 1 minute or until thickened.
  • 5 remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  • 6 serve over vanilla ice cream and gingersnaps.
