Sauteed Brown Sugar Pears

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 anjou pears, peeled and cut into eighths
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- vanilla ice cream
- gingersnaps
Recipe
- 1 sprinkle lemon juice over pears.
- 2 melt sugar and butter in a big nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes or until melted and smooth.
- 3 decrease heat to low; add in pears; cook/stir, 6-8 minutes or until pears are tender.
- 4 whisk together the cornstarch and 1 teaspoon water; stir into pear mixture, and cook 1 minute or until thickened.
- 5 remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
- 6 serve over vanilla ice cream and gingersnaps.
