Tangy Barbecue Sauce

Total Time: 33 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 18 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped yellow onions
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • 2 add celery and onion and cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 add remaining ingredients and whisk together.
  • 4 bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 5 transfer to a bowl, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
