Port Wine Reduction

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrot
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cups port wine

Recipe

  • 1 combine all of the ingredients into a medium sized saucepan and over medium heat, bring to a boil.
  • 2 continue to boil until the mixture thickens and reduces to about 1/2 cup, about 30 minutes.
  • 3 strain through a fine mesh strainer and let cool.
  • 4 use at room temperature.
