Potato Casserole Recipe Courtesy Paula Deen

Ingredients



  • Servings: 6

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 small onion, sliced thin

  • 1 small bell pepper, sliced thin

  • 8 tablespoons butter

  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

  • 4 medium potatoes, cooked

  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp

  • 1 cup salt

  • 1/4 cup black pepper

  • 1/4 cup garlic powder


Recipe



  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.

  • 2 spread mashed potatoes evenly on bottom of casserole dish.

  • 3 layer sour cream evenly over top.

  • 4 sprinkle house seasoning, to taste.

  • 5 saute onion and bell pepper in butter; evenly layer over top of sour cream.

  • 6 slice potatoes and layer over onions and bell peppers.

  • 7 add butter.

  • 8 sprinkle house seasoning.

  • 9 finally top with cheese.

  • 10 bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

  • 11 remove from oven and crumble bacon over top.

  • 12 cook's note: leftover mashed potatoes work wonderfully in this recipe.

  • 13 house seasoning:

  • 14 1 cup salt

  • 15 1/4 cup black pepper

  • 16 1/4 cup garlic powder

  • 17 mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
