Spoon Bread

Ingredients



  • Servings: 12

  • 3 cups water, boiling

  • 2 cups cornmeal

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1/2 cup butter, cut up

  • 2 cups milk (not skim)

  • 4 large eggs, beaten slightly

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder


Recipe



  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees (fahrenheit) and lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.

  • 2 measure cornmeal into a large heatproof bowl.

  • 3 gradually pour boiling water over cornmeal and stir until mixture is smooth.

  • 4 add salt and butter and stir until butter melts and mixture is well blended.
