Southern Pecan Pie

Ingredients



  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup light corn syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 3 eggs, beaten lightly

  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate pieces, chopped

  • 9 inches prepared pie crusts


Recipe



  • 1 1. preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • 2 2. in a sauce pan, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla. bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until sugar is melted. set aside to cool.

  • 3 3. stir the beaten eggs into the sauce, and stir in the pecans.

  • 4 4. place the chocolate pieces on the bottom of the pir crust.

  • 5 5. pour the mixture into the pie shell and bake for 30 minutes.

  • 6 6. let the pie cool, then serve.

  • 7 7. enjoy!
