Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 cup chopped blanched almond
Recipe
- 1 combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and half-half in 2 qt heavy saucepan.
- 2 cook over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- 3 (watch so it doesn't overflow).
- 4 continue cooking, stirring occasionally, to the hard ball stage (250*).
- 5 remove from heat; add chopped almonds.
- 6 pour into small fluted paper dessert cups (about 1 1/2" diameter- and once paper removed.. will have a pretty edge) or drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper- to make patties.
