Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups vinegar
- 6 brown onions, halved lengthways
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 peppercorns
Recipe
- 1 put all ingredients into large, deep saucepan.
- 2 stir till sugar dissolves and mixture boils.
- 3 simmer, stirring every now and again for 45 minutes.
- 4 onions should be translucent.
- 5 liquid should be nearly all evaporated.
- 6 set aside to cool to room temp then spoon into sterilized jars and seal.
