Sweet And Sour Green Beans

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 lbs cut green beans
  • 2 slices bacon, cubed
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 in a large pot on medium heat cook beans in boiling water until crisp tender.
  • 2 drain beans.
  • 3 fry bacon until crisp and remove all but 2 tbsps of fat from the pan.
  • 4 add onion and saute for 5 minutes.
  • 5 make a thin paste of 1 tbsp flour and 1/4 cup water.
  • 6 add flour paste, vinegar, sugar, bacon and onions to pan and cook until thickened.
  • 7 pour over beans and toss.
  • 8 cover and heat thoroughly.
