Khara Masala Balti Chicken

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons corn oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken, chopped
  • 1 sliced fresh tomato
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 mix seeds, salt ginger and garlic in a small bowl (i usually double the ginger). heat the oil in a preheated wok.
  • 2 when oil is hot, add spices.
  • 3 add the onion to wok and stir-fry 5-7 minutes.
  • 4 add tomato and chicken to wok and cook over medium heat about 7 minutes or until chicken is cooked. stir mixture over heat for a further 3-5 minutes, then garnish with coriander.
