Lamb Shanks Supreme

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 lamb shanks
  • 2 tablespoons fat
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup dry
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 small onions or 4 small onions, sliced in rings
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 8 prunes

Recipe

  • 1 trim all fat from shanks.
  • 2 dredge in flour with salt and pepper.
  • 3 brown in fat in deep frying pan or dutch oven.
  • 4 combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat.
  • 5 place onions and prunes on top.
  • 6 cover and bake in a moderate oven (350) for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
  • 7 serve sauce over shanks.
