Low Fat Granola

Ingredients

- 3 cups oats
- 2 cups sweetened puffed wheat cereal
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 cup dried apricot, chopped
- 1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries
- 1/2 cup dried blueberries
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- 2 combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
- 3 combine applesauce, honey, oil, cinnamon, and ginger in a small sauce pan, and cook over medium heat 2 minutes or until honey is melted, stirring occasionally.
- 4 pour applesauce mixture over oat mixture, stirring to coat.
- 5 place mixture in a cookie sheet, and spread out.
- 6 bake for 20 minutes.
- 7 gently stir and bake an additional 15 minutes or until dry and browned.
- 8 cool.
- 9 stir in dried fruit.
- 10 store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
