Land O Lakes Lemon Velvet Butter Sauce

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup dry white
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped shallots
  • 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup creamed butter, cut in 8 pieces
  • salt
  • fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 combine , shallots and lemon juice in a 10 inch non reactive skillet.
  • 2 cook over medium high heat until mixture comes to a boil, about 5-7 minutes.
  • 3 continue boiling until liquid almost evaporates about 4-5 minutes.
  • 4 reduce heat to medium low.
  • 5 add flour, mix well.
  • 6 slowly stir in cream with wire whisk until well mixed.
  • 7 cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • 8 stir in butter until melted.
  • 9 season with salt and pepper.
  • 10 if sauce starts to curdle, decrease heat, whisk until smooth.
