Kittencal's Scotch Shortbread Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened (no substitutions)
- 1/2 cup icing sugar (confectioners)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- additional icing sugar, for dusting
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 350 degrees f.
- 2 prepare an ungreased 11 x 7-inch baking pan.
- 3 in a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar well.
- 4 combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
- 5 spread into a prepared ungreased baking pan.
- 6 prick well several times with a fork.
- 7 bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the edges just begin to brown.
- 8 remove from oven the dust with more icing sugar.
- 9 cool on wire rack.
- 10 cut into bars.
