Ingredients

- 1 lb turkey sausage
- 1 small onion (finely diced)
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 3/4 cups spaghetti sauce
- 3 cups whole wheat pasta (uncooked)
- 2 pinches kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Recipe
- 1 start your noodle water boiling and add 2 pinches of kosher salt.
- 2 when the water starts to boil, add the noodles and cook according to the manufacturer's direction.
- 3 brown the turkey, onion, a pinch of kosher salt, sliced mushrooms, 1 teaspoon dried basil, and 1 teaspoon dried parsley on a medium heat.
- 4 drain any grease that may have cooked out.
- 5 add the spaghetti sauce and turn to the heat to the lowest setting. stir occasional while the noodle are cooking.
- 6 when the noodles are done, drain them and toss with olive oil and remaining dried parsley.
- 7 dish out the cooked noodle and place the sauce on top.
- 8 optional - top sauce with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese or 1 1/2 tablespoons of low fat small curb cottage cheese.
