Ingredients

- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion, finely minced
- oil (for deep frying)
- milk (if needed)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oil to 350f in a large skillet or deep fryer.
- 2 mix remaining ingredients to make a stiff batter - adding milk as needed.
- 3 use small scoop or tablespoon to scoop individual amounts and drop into hot oil.
- 4 cook until golden brown - drain on paper towel.
