Low Cal Fat Free Granola Base

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 2 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 250°f.
  • 2 combine oats and cereal in large bowl.
  • 3 add applesauce and stir until crumbly.
  • 4 spread evenly over large baking sheet and drizzle with honey.
  • 5 bake for 30 minutes, stirring twice.
  • 6 increase oven temp to 350°f.
  • 7 add "fun" stuff: dates, raisins, nuts, etc. note: if you like "chunky" granola, drizzle another 1 t of honey at this step and "clump" into clusters.
  • 8 bake for 8 to 10 minutes until dry and golden.
  • 9 cool and serve. for hot cereal, use 1:1 ratio with favorite quick cooking cereal.
