Southern Cornbread Dressing (stuffing)

Ingredients



  • 1 lb turkey sausage, cooked

  • 1 cup golden bell pepper, diced

  • 2 stalks celery, diced

  • 1 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 (8 ounce) package ready made cornbread mix

  • 1 1/2 cups oyster crackers

  • 1 (14 ounce) can cream of celery soup

  • 3 tablespoons fresh sage

  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon nu salt substitute

  • pepper

  • 1 small carrot, shredded

  • 1 cup chicken or 1 cup turkey stock

  • 1/4 cup butter


Recipe



  • 1 make cornbread according to ackage directions and crumble.

  • 2 preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • 3 mix ingriedients in a large bowl.

  • 4 pour into an 8x10 baking dish and bake about 40 minutes.

  • 5 pour a little more stock over stuffing just before serving and garnish with more fresh sage leaves.
