Southern Country Fried Steaks And Gravy

Ingredients



  • Servings: 4

  • 4 cube steaks

  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper

  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/4 cup lard

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons flour


Recipe



  • 1 season meat with garlic, pepper, and salt.

  • 2 dip into flour, then eggs, then flour again.

  • 3 heat lard in large skillet over medium-high heat. fry steaks on each side for 3-4 minutes.

  • 4 gravy recipe.

  • 5 pour off all but 2 tablespoons of lard. mix in flour (2tbsp.) with the oil. cook over med. heat and gradually whisk in milk. cook and stir until thick and bubbly.

  • 6 add salt and pepper.

  • 7 serve over steaks.
