Mexican Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 deep dish pie shell, sprinkled with cornmeal
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can corn, drained
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces salsa
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 brown and drain hamburger,green pepper and onion.
  • 2 mix with the next seven ingredients.
  • 3 pour into unbaked deep dish pie crust that has been sprinkled with cornmeal.
  • 4 bake at 425°f for 25 minutes.
  • 5 take out of oven and put topping on (the last five ingredients).
  • 6 bake about five more minutes.
  • 7 cool and slice.
