Turkey Mushroom Burgers

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • salt & pepper
  • 3 cups oats (quick or rolled)
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce

Recipe

  • 1 in lg. skillet saute onions, mushrooms, garlic, bay leaf until onions in oil and butter until are translucent. add basil, thyme and oregano, and cook for 5-7 minutes or until liquid is almost gone. remove from heat. remove bay leaf.
  • 2 in lg. bowl, combine ground turkey with saute mixture, and oats, egg and worcestershire sauce and form into 8 patties.
  • 3 cook in well oiled skillet or on the grill for 5-7 minutes per side.
  • 4 serve on burger buns with guacamole and/or your choice of condiments.
