Wild Bird Treat Mix In A Quart Jar

Ingredients

• 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
• 1/2 cup wheat germ
• 1/2 cup small mixed bird seed
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1 1/2 cups quick oats

Recipe

• 1 layer ingredients in order given, cornmeal first, in a 1 quart wide mouth jar pressing each layer very firmly before adding next layer.
• 2 decorate jar and attach a recipe card with the following instructions --
• 3 wildbird treats.
• 4 empty all ingredients from jar into a large bowl -- mix.
• 5 add: 3/4 cup peanut butter, smooth or crunchy -- and 1 cup water.
• 6 mix very well -- add more water if necessary to make a stiff dough.
• 7 spread in a 9x13" baking pan --
• 8 use knife to cut bars into 2x4" bars. leave bars in place.
• 9 bake at 250* for 45 minutes.
• 10 leave in pan to cool --
• 11 cut into bars along cut lines.
• 12 feed wild birds one bar at a time.
• 13 keep remaining bars refrigerated until needed.
